Tomáš Maretta is a partner in Čechová & Partners. Working for our law firm for 20 years, he participated in many transactions, playing a significant role in providing advice on competition law and merger control.
Tomáš successfully assisted many international and local undertakings operating in pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive and engineering industries, as well as in the areas of banking and private equity, in connection with local merger clearances. He also provided comprehensive legal services to clients regarding cartel agreements, vertical practices, and issues concerning possible abuse of a dominant position, in addition to representing clients in proceedings before the Slovak Antimonopoly Office and in Slovak courts. He also advised clients on various aspects of private antitrust litigation under Slovak law. During his practice, he also gained an extensive experience in the area of corporate law, M&A and commercial law. Tomas also provided complex legal advice for several multinational FMCG clients in different areas of law.
Just as in previous years, in 2020 too, Tomáš was named by Global Competition Review as one of the leading experts on competition law in Slovakia.
In Chambers Europe 2021, Tomáš earned top ranking for individuals in Competition/Antitrust (Band 1). Under his leadership, the team of Čechová & Partners specialized in competition law received the highest rating (Band 1) in the area.
